Welcome to Booking: Building a Musical Theatre audition book that is uniquely you!
Whether you are new to the Musical Theatre audition world, or a seasoned pro, we believe that you can have a book of songs that reflects who you are as an artist and human, and leaves you feeling empowered in the audition room.
This E-course is a journey to find a group of songs that feel fulfilling and exciting to share. Over the course of 6 modules we will:
- Break down industry standards of what you'll be asked to have in your audition book.
- Help you clarify who you are as an artist and person, so that you can choose material that reflects your personal essence.
- Discuss "type" and how identifying your technical strengths and weaknesses can help you when selecting material.
- Create a picture of the kind of work you want to be doing, and use that information to help you make your book more specifically tailored to your goals.
- Lead you through a system of finding and choosing material through our Three Guideposts.
- Give you the reins, as you sing! You will try out your material on your own, share it with your team, and finally bring it into the audition room!
We believe that we do best as artists when we feel empowered and appreciated in our uniqueness. Your audition book is a great place to showcase your "special sauce", and this course is designed to put you in the driver's seat of your own self expression.

Hi, We're Kevin Michael Murphy and Molly Noerenberg,
We are the owners of the NYC Vocal Studio, a community of voice teachers who work with Broadway professionals. Over the last decade, we have been working with performers, helping them build their books for auditions. The secret we've found is that there is no such thing as finding the "perfect song," but rather the song that perfectly reflects who you are as an artist and human.
Booking! is a collection of all of the discoveries we've made over the years. We have put together a system for finding material which includes a collection of resources, downloadables, and worksheets, all designed to help you streamline this often overwhelming process.
We can't wait to work with you!
Ask the Industry!
We surveyed a group of casting directors, agents, musical directors, and other industry professionals, to get their feedback on some hot topics. We share their answers throughout the course, to help give perspective.
Downloadables
We love a good system! This process can be daunting, so having a clear path through can make all the difference. Booking! includes a series of workbooks, resource guides, and exercises, that are designed to make the experience of finding and choosing material less overwhelming, and way more fun!
Case Studies
We help you make sense of the myriad of ways you can explore finding rep, by sharing some specific case studies of singers going through this process, and allowing their curiosity to guide the way!
